Lace iPhone Case!

Okay, So I'm kinda bummed because I was so nervous about this project that I forgot to take step by step photos, but I'm gonna explain it and hopefully it will all go together!
So my sister has an iPhone and I like making her gifts for her birthday instead of just buying things. So I saw this idea on Pinterest and I thought my sister would like it.

All you need is a plain black phone case, a piece of lace, spray paint in whatever color you choose, newspaper, and something you can put pins in.

First, I just taped the sides so that the paint wouldn't get all over the case. Then I took some cork boards I have and covered them in newspaper. Then I took push pins and pinned the lace down over the case so that it was tight and set in place. Then I just sprayed the case and hoped for the best. If I would have sprayed a little less, you might've been able to see all of the little lines but I'm happy with how it turned out! Then I let it dry and then I sprayed clear paint on top. So it's easy and looks really cute!
Sorry for the lack of photos!!!

Some Random Crafts :)

I seem to have this thing where I LOVE to change my room around and change decorations. Over this past Christmas, I re-painted my room. So I have some decorations that needed a little revamped in order to match the new decor! My room was dark blue and light blue with polka dots and I also had light green and light blue in my room. I decided that it looked really young so I painted it a bright blue and have a mostly navy comforter. Before I made my necklace hanger shown in the previous post, I hung my necklaces on little round hooks.  This is what they used to look like:

The polka dots matched my wall before but didn't look very good with my new bright blue walls! So I decided to paint them white and navy. And instead of hanging necklaces on them, I'm going to use them for headbands! (most of my headbands are still at school, that's why my collection looks small :) )

On another note... My mom recently broke the lid to her sugar bowl. So of course she gave me the lid-less sugar bowl because she knew I would think of something to do with it... and she was right! I got some modge podge and glitter and decorated it a little...

So I decided to use it for make-up brushes. I had some pebbles left over from another craft, so I put those in the bottom-although I need to get some more so that the brushes stand up straight.
So here is the finished project! :) Who would have thought that I lid-less sugar bowl could be put to use!

Project #1- Jewelry Hanger

Okay so I finally got around to making this blog! I love making crafts, so I figured I would make a craft blog and post different tutorials! I've been home for spring break so I've had some extra time on my hands to make crafts!
The first one I did, my jewelry hanger, I've been wanting to make for quite some time now and I finally got around to it! I got the idea from StumbleUpon and it works really well and is really easy to make!

What you need:
Some crown molding (at least 2 pieces) or other long, skinny wood. The wood I used was about 36'' long.
Nails
Upholstery Tacks
Paint

First, I just took the two pieces of crown molding and nailed them together to create two different layers so that the necklaces don't get tangled together.

The next step is to paint it whatever color you want. I just used acrylic paint in light grey.
Once it has dried, it's time to put in the tacks. I used 100, however, you can make yours as big as you'd like. I just got silver upholstery tacks from Home Depot. They're about 2 dollars for a pack of 25. I put them about an inch apart. Towards the right side, I left a little more space between the tacks to hang bigger bracelets and necklaces.
Then you hang on the wall and add the jewelry!

Simple and a great way to display all of your jewelry! :)
